HPE Discover 2018: Highlights

From 19-21 June, over 8,000 IT professionals had the opportunity to get under the hood of Workplace Hub, as well as hear more about the great relationship Konica Minolta has with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

As part of our partnership with HPE, Konica Minolta was invited to take part in HPE Discover, a leading IT event held this year in Las Vegas, USA. It was an activity packed few days, instigating insightful conversations about the future of work and required technology to support it, and we were delighted to have Workplace Hub be a key part of this. For a wrap-up of the week, continue reading below for our highlights:

A busy demo area

We made sure no-one could miss the distinct blue lights of Workplace Hub, by having both the Hub and Edge Standalone on display within the HPE OEM Solutions booth, right in the centre of the exhibition. Comprehensive demos of the platform offering were given by David Neal, Workplace Hub HW & IT Architect, who did an awesome job explaining about the integration with HPE's ProLiant DL180 Gen10 Servers, and the core elements that the platform offers to enable IT on your terms.

We were also delighted to have HPE’s CEO Antonio Neri personally come by to see and hear about Workplace Hub in person. He was extremely supportive of our work together, as well as our future vision, and it was great sign of respect for the work we do together.

Spreading the word

As part of a diverse speaking programme across the event, the Workplace Hub team took the time to share insights on how technology is changing the way we think about traditional industries, such as Office and Healthcare.

First up, as part of a dedicated breakout session for OEM customers and partners, David Neal and Christian Mastrodonato, Workplace Hub Chief Technologist, spoke about how with Workplace Hub we are not only working together with HPE today, but how our strategies for innovation allow us to continue to align for the future.

Attention then turned to healthcare, where Joanna Soroka, Digital Healthcare Team Manager, was on hand to share her expertise on how technology is revolutionising the industry. Taking part first in a panel to discuss empowered healthcare, she shared great insights into how smart utilisation of data is key, and that there needs to be a shift from volume to value.

“There is an explosion of data now available through affordable technologies, and now we are starting to have the tools to analyse it in a way to generate smart, clinical insights”

Joanna then also held a speaking session on how digital transformation can enable precision medicine, and that having the right IT infrastructure in place will allow for better, connected, patient care.

These speaking sessions allowed for great debate and conversation, and helped us understand how having partners such as HPE is critical for improvement: by combining our expertise in data collection and medicine, we can drive insights to take us on the path to precision medicine.

Lights, camera, action!

Alongside these customer-facing activities, the Workplace Hub team were also kept busy filming videos for a wider audience. Covering key topics such as innovation, future workplace trends, and of course how Workplace Hub can help SMEs, watch this space for when they're released later this year!
